What is Poz Ireland?Poz Ireland is a non-profit, charitable organisation (CHY13434) working to provide vital information on the diagnosis and treatment of HIV disease to those affected by HIV and AIDS.
Why is Poz Ireland providing this information?Compelling research in people with HIV, demonstrate that those who are better informed about HIV and its opportunistic infections, extend their overall survival, improve their quality of life, decrease the need for interventional procedures and reduce the incidence of opportunistic infections. Poz Ireland provides information about HIV and AIDS. Poz Ireland reports on experimental and standard treatments, especially those available now. We interview health professionals, and persons with HIV or AIDS, we also collect information from meetings and conferences, medical journals, and computer databases around the world. Poz Ireland does not advocate particular treatments but seeks to increase the options available. Poz Ireland’s guiding principle is that all people affected by HIV can understand enough about HIV itself and about HIV treatments to make informed decisions.
